This week Thomas Müller joined the Champions League 100 club as he came off the subs bench for Bayern Munich against Benfica. That means Müller is now the newest member of this exclusive club of illustrious players with 100 or more UEFA Champions League appearances.
He nearly didn’t though, but with just two minutes to go of Bayern Munich’s 2-0 win over Benfica, the 29-year-old was substituted on to complete his century of appearances. All of which have been for Bayern too.
That means he becomes the 35th member of the club but he is still some way behind the all-time leader Iker Casillas, who has the overall record all to himself for now with and Cristiano Ronaldo fourteen behind him.
